I like being reminded that nobody’s going to help me that it’s all up to me. It puts my focus back on the things I can do – not waiting for outside circumstances.Derek Sivers (The man who gave away a $22 million dollar company to charity)

Everywhere I go people are talking about sustainability…it is the real word that has replaced the fad word “Green” which has been picked up by advertising and completely lost all credibility.

Sustainability is,” according to Wikipedia, “the capacity to endure.”  In ecology the word describes how biological systems remain diverse and productive over time. For humans it is the potential for long-term maintenance of well-being, which in turn depends on the well-being of the natural world and the responsible use of natural resources.

The perfect model of sustainability is nature. Without modern technology, education or artificial intervention, the nature of life on Earth is real and absolutely sustainable.

What is sustainable in nature?

  • Food grown without artificial toxic fertilizers or pesticides
  • Building Supplies in the form of Rocks, Stones and Wood without artificial toxic glues and fillers.
  • Clean air is produced when people breathe in oxygen and give off carbon dioxide which is absorbed by plants to be released as oxygen.
  • Clean water without toxins such as fluoride which contrary to popular belief, fluorosilicic acid is not a natural substance; it is a toxic waste product produced in the smokestacks of aluminum and nuclear industrial chemical producers.

Sustainability starts with each individual household and moves out into the local community.  The key to sustainability opens the door to all areas of wellness …financial, family and physical health.

What is a sustainable community?

  • It is a producing community rather than a consuming community.  It is a community that produces food and services for those living within the local area.
  • It is a community that creates employment and financial stability through producing and distributing local grown products and essential services.
  • It is a community that values education and training in practical usable skills rather than educating for jobs that are non-producing and non-essential in our present society.
  • It is a community that cares about its culture and heritage by restoring and preserving older homes and structures with environmental renovation rather than developing and building new structures.
  • It is a real community that works, plays and eats locally where every family has a home and lives well naturally.

How sustainable is your lifestyle?

  • Where does your food come from?  There is a seven day food supply in the U.S. at this moment.  Over 70% of our “so called food” comes from out of this country.
  • Do you shop locally based stores with locally produced sustainable goods and services or do you send your money out of the country buying advertised artificial “specials” from other countries?
  • Do you utilize natural and organic products which endure and have lasting value or do you buy plastic, synthetic and artificial products which are disposable?
  • Do you spend more on medical care, drugs and chemical beauty supplies than on prevention of health and aging issues through clean food, water and air?
  • What lifestyle and example are you setting for your children?  Are you setting them up for a better life?  Are you teaching your children to be disposable consumers or productive achievers?

If you want a sustainable lifestyle and a sustainable community, it is up to you to make the change and speak up.

We can not look to the large corporations or political parties or medical institutions to fix and save us.  They spend $300 billion on advertising propaganda to influence our children to become non-producing consumers.

The government has no money…only the ability to print it and spend what it takes from us.  Sustainability depends on productivity not technology or consumerism.  There is a major difference between Agriculture and Agribusiness.

Just something to think about…how sustainable is your life?
