Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you’ve imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler. Henry David Thoreau (1817 – 1862)
Keep It Simple Stupid. This is one of the most difficult lessons in life and the reason is because it is offensive. None of us are stupid or want to be considered stupid.
We are all born with the same awesome potential, so let’s eliminate that one word and replace it with a word that fits our value system.
For all of those people who have personal contact with me, you know “sweetie and honey” are my pet words. When I am talking to myself the KISS system comes out, “Keep It Simple Sweetie.”
I have learned that like peace…kindness starts with being kind to ones self in mind, body and spirit. I have also found that how we relate to other people is reflective of how we are treating ourselves.
Our culture does not teach us that anything is simple and easily understandable by everyone. Complication creates confusion which creates the necessary to turn responsibility of our lives over to an expert and follow their rules.
We are taught in our education systems that we must become an “expert” in some area or be labeled as “stupid.”
Keeping it simple means letting go of other people’s idea of perfection and keeping life fun. Laughter, hugs and happiness are much better motivators than anger, yelling and sarcasm.
Keeping it simple means not making comparisons or competing with other people.
Keeping it simple means doing and having what makes us happy rather than what someone else tells us we “should” be doing in order to be successful or trying to get what someone else has.
The KISS system is part of Living Well. Wellness is a learned skill that must be practiced daily and what better place to learn this skill than a loving support group.
Living Well Support Group
What if…every Church and community had a Living Well Support Group which was open to everyone on a love offering basis? Each week, there would be a different practical instructive program on wellness through environmental sustainability, social justice and spiritual fulfillment. Wellness is a learned skill that must be practiced daily and what better place to learn this skill than a loving support group.
