When concern for the economic and technological progress is not accompanied by concern for the balance of the ecosystem, our earth is inevitably exposed to serious environmental damage, with consequent harm to human beings. Blatant disrespect for the environment will continue as long as the earth and its potential are seen merely as objects for immediate use and consumption, to be manipulated by an unbridled desire for profits.
Pope John Paul II
Have you taken a shower today?
Imagine going for years without taking a shower and daily pouring soda, coffee, energy drinks, milk and the other liquids you consume over your body. Then add all the toxins that you come in contact with onto the sticky drinks on the outside of your skin. Can you imagine how your body would look and smell?
Do you have issues with body odor and does your poop and urine smell? Do you have issues with water retention? Is your skin dry and wrinkly or do you have stretch marks? Do you have frequent infections and congestion? Do you have difficulty maintaining control of your emotions or have attention and focus issues? These could all be signs that you need a daily internal shower. You are in the midst of a water shortage.
A bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) is used to determine body composition and inter-cellular versus extra-cellular hydration. It has been my experience that over 90% of those tested are dehydrated.
If you can imagine the cells in your body…when you are well hydrated, the water is in the cells and they look like grapes…when you are dehydrated, the water is outside the cells and they look like raisins. When the water is outside the cells or extra-cellular that is where waste and toxins are stored. Taking an internal water shower each day insures that waste and toxins are carried out of the body. Cleansing internally with pure water is vital to wellness.
Water intake and fluid balance are among the least understood and most neglected areas of overall health and weight management. Life and health depend on pure water. In fact, 70% of your body weight is water. It is needed to carry vital substances to cells and waste away from cells. Water is necessary to moisten the lungs and respiratory tract, lubricate the joint surfaces and internal organs, and insure proper digestion.
Because water is so important to health, the body attempts to maintain proper fluid and pH (alkaline/acid) balance at all times. If you consume too little water, a hormone called aldosterone is secreted to stimulate the body to conserve every molecule of water and sodium that it can. This water retention is especially pronounced if protein intake is too low (as is often the case in fad diets) or if there is a hormone imbalance (as is often the case in females prior to menstruation) or with the use of some commonly OTC and prescription medications.
If you have abnormal kidney and heart function, you need to drink more water to get rid of excessive fluid. Drinking more water reduces the production of aldosterone and stimulates the excretion of water and sodium. Increasing water intake actually decreases water retention as well as the bloating and added weight that accompanies it.
Lifestyle Suggestion:
In the morning place 4 rubber bands around your left wrist. Have four 20 oz bottles of on hand and each time you finish drinking a bottle of water…change one band from the left to the right wrist. The goal is to finish the day with all the bands on the right.
The body does not accept substitutes. No other drinks that you are consuming take the place of pure clean water. Energy drinks and so-called vitamin waters are banned in many European Countries. Independent research (when the FDA refused to test) has proved conclusively that tap water across the country is polluted with pharmaceutical drugs and chemical run-off from manufacturing plants. These drinks along with diet sodas add to the increase the stress level of toxins within the body and support further dehydration.
A good in-home water filtration system is one of the best investments you can make for the wellness of your family and the Earth. There are environmentally safe containers which you can carry your water in during the day. Plastic water bottles are a carcinogenic when reused or when they get hot besides filling up our landfills.
How much pure water? Take your weight – divide by two and that is how many ounces you need each day. If you meet yourself running to the bathroom for the first three day … congratulations you are showering from the inside out.
Cleansing your body internally (also referred to as detoxification) is the most effective tool in weight management, anti-aging, hormone balance and eliminating toxins from the body. Beauty does come from the inside out. A well hydrated detoxified body is the secret to a beauty body and a clear mind.
